This project is about witnessing, through my eyes, the life of French migrants in the world. We as citizens living in France are beings of a sedentary culture and are on the way of becoming “nomads”.
I myself am living, couting many trips around the world, in the heart of this phenomenon, and so many questions have awaken in me that I wanted to explore…
From where does come that growing addiction for the need to discover more and more foreign cultures, and do it again and again? Is that a search for a new life or just a need for a new departure?
In laying out some ten portraits of French expatriates, each one in a different realm, that he inhabits 100% away from his native land, I choose to show a way each person has integrated their personality into different cultures. To record the changes they have made when compared to their French customs, as well as the habits they conserved.
It is a matter of capturing them in their homes, at work and in their daily activities with friends. Hence, I have contacted both men and women who are living in a host country for at least a year, and who work in various and different jobs.
